Regional competitions are being held across Canada to determine who will represent their region at CUC2008. A list of the regional games and the qualifying regional teams can be found on the CUPA website.

Divisions

CUC2008 competition is split into five divisions. Each division has a specific number of spots, which are allocated by region:

  • Open (16 teams)
  • Women's (12 teams)
  • Mixed (16 teams)
  • Juniors (8 teams)
  • Masters (8 teams)

Regions

Each region is allocated at least one spot within each division. Additional and/or remaining spots are allocated based on criteria including team placement at the previous year's CUC as well as regions with the most CUPA members in the previous year.

  • British Columbia (BC)
  • Alberta (AB)
  • Prairies (PR) – Saskatchewan and Manitoba
  • Ontario (ON)
  • Quebec (QC)
  • Atlantic (AT) – New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador

Note: The Territories (Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut) are not assigned to any region; however, players residing in the Territories may play for a team in any region without counting towards a team's "out of region" players.

For additional divisional and regional information, please consult the CUC Players Manual.
